Wagyumama Schoolhouse is a faith-based, hybrid homeschool program rooted in hands-on learning, community, and real-world experience. We offer flexible options for families including 2, 3, or 4-day core programs, as well as enrichment electives that rotate each session.
Our program blends strong academics with experiential learning. Students engage in reading, writing, math, science, and character development alongside hands-on experiences such as nature, gardening, animal care, homesteading skills, nature exploration, creative arts, and practical life skills. Electives change throughout the year and may include cooking, sewing, building, nature studies, entrepreneurship, and more.
We also host Friday Ranch Days, where students spend time on a working ranch learning about animal care, land stewardship, and real-world responsibility. Throughout the year, we welcome local professionals and tradespeople to share hands-on skills and real-life knowledge.
Wagyumama Schoolhouse operates in two locations:
• Camp Longleaf at EO Wilson Biophila (Freeport)
• Our working ranch in Laurel Hill
In addition, we offer seasonal programs including summer camps and 24-hour nature immersion experiences at camp LongLeaf, giving students the opportunity to unplug, build confidence, and connect deeply with the natural world.
Our mission is to create an environment where children learn not just academics, but resilience, responsibility, creativity, and confidence preparing them for real life, not just the classroom.
