Acton Academy is a place where children are free to continue that path to naturally find a love of learning.
Many of today’s schools tout the world of “21st Century Skills,” which is based on asking questions to encourage critical thinking, inquiry, and reasoning. Students are expected to evaluate, integrate, and translate ideas to solve problems while completing teacher-led projects. Yet, the learners are not given the potential of learning through their own process. It is laid out for them. They often aren’t allowed to make mistakes and learn from their failures. Failure, rather than becoming another opportunity to learn, becomes laden with fear. At Acton, we value 21st Century Skill learning in the truest form–through Socratic discussions and real-world projects through collaboration with their fellow peers.
