Foley, Alabama's Graham Creek Nature Preserve is home to hundreds of plant and wildlife species, among almost 500 acres of natural habitats including pine savannas, bottomland wetlands, mixed forests and tidal marshes situated less than 2 miles from the Foley Beach Express. It is located at 23460 Wolf Bay Drive on Stan Mahoney Lane. The Preserve offers a canoe/kayak launch with a 2 mile paddle to Wolf Bay. Our extensive trail system has been updated, including a 5K cross country trail and shorter ADA trail. We now have THREE (3) separate 18 basket disc golf courses, picnic areas, swings and bird watching areas. Trails cross multiple habitats where visitors can see rare carnivorous plants and wildflowers year round. The park area also boasts large populations of wildlife and birds who make the preserve their home, designating Graham Creek Nature Preserve as as official stop on the Alabama Bird Watching Trail. With clean comfortable restroom facilities and outdoor showers, the Preserve offers groups a unique meeting facility under the 2400 square foot Pavilion, as well as other rental space for wedding, parties or other private events. Hours are dawn until dusk daily, for all our outdoor activity areas. Nature Center hours are 10-4 Monday through Friday, 10-2 Saturdays (closed Sundays).
