The park provides a learning environment like no other and was acquired from the Florida Division of Forestry. Over 100 trees are identified in the park. These trees are indigenous to the state of Florida. An outdoor covered picnic pavilion has proven to be an excellent site for field trips and Easter egg hunts. The Environmental Museum on the site offers a great educational tool for our area students. All displays on hand are relative to the forestry industry that helped found the Northwest Florida and Crestview area years ago. Several hundred children visit this park each school year. The Environmental Center is located on Butler Circle (off of Mapoles Street), right next to the fire tower in Crestview.
