New teen drivers between the ages of 14 1/2 and 17 must complete a Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) course to get a learner's permit. Our DETS program is approved by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV). It covers traffic laws, DUI prevention, defensive driving and handling emergencies. It is easy to follow, is completely online and lets you learn at your preferred pace.

Once you complete the DETS course, you'll be able to take the Class E Knowledge Exam online and apply for your instructional permit.
