Our prevention team consists of Community Outreach Advocates who provide in-person training to the children of the Okaloosa and Walton County School Districts through the Monique Burr Foundation Safety Program. They provide in-depth, exciting, and interactive lessons to help children understand ways to keep themselves safe, how to spot a safe adult, encourage disclosure of abuse, and how to identify unsafe situations. These free services are a proven successful method in teaching children strategies to disclose unsafe relationships and empowering them to use their voices to keep themselves safe. They have provided thousands of lessons to children since its implementation in 2017 and has garnered numerous disclosures of abuse. Our prevention team is building a better, healthier future through awareness and empowerment of our children.
