Join your family and friends on a morning walk along our white, sandy beach, while learning about local sea turtle conservation efforts. This event is a beach 5K, and will not be setup on the adjacent paved road, so please keep this in mind while preparing. This event is being organized by Gulf World Marine Institute, Inc. and Panama City Beach Turtle Watch; all proceeds will be directed to sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation efforts at Gulf World Marine Institute.
The event will start at the M.B. Miller County Pier. Check-in/shirt pick-up begins at 7:00, and the Walk/Run starts at 8:30. Participants will walk 2.5K west towards Bid A Wee Beach, then return back to the pier for a total of 5K. Along the way, participants will learn about local sea turtles, shorebirds, marine mammals, and other local coastal wildlife.
All participants that register by April 12th are guaranteed an event T-shirt; after that, participants will have the option to buy shirts at the event as supplies last. Day-of and walk-up registration will be available, but please note that the rate will increase by $5 to $45. Also note: registrants who sign up the day of the event can not be be guaranteed an event shirt. Every participant will also be given a goodie bag with information from each sponsor and other local organizations. Water stations will be provided. We hope to see you there!
