Build-A-Bucket, Build Disaster Resilience! Join the Walton County Emergency Management team for the Inaugural 2025 Build a Bucket Event, hosted at Hammock Bay! In recognition of National Preparedness Month, WCEM is proud to host the first-ever Build a Bucket Event! This exciting, free family event is designed to help our community get prepared, connect with local partners, and have a great time while doing it.Being personally prepared is one of the most important steps you and your family can take before a storm hits. By building your disaster kit, learning new safety skills, and meeting the local businesses and partners who are here to help, you’ll be ready for whatever comes our way.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
- Build Your Own Disaster Kit – Start or strengthen your family’s emergency supplies
- Touch-a-Truck Experience – Get up close with first responder and utility vehicles
- Live Fire Extinguisher Demonstration – Learn hands-on fire safety skills
- Stop the Bleed Training – Pre-registration required
- Food Trucks serving delicious local eats (beginning at 11AM)
- Live Music to enjoy with the family
- Raffles & Prizes throughout the day
- Connect with Local Businesses & Community Partners
- Fun Activities, a Kid Zone, and much more!
