Students will explore basic drawing techniques, shading, composition, and ways to create depth and detail using graphite pencils. Each week will build on the skills learned in the previous lesson, allowing students to practice at their own pace while developing their individual drawing style.

Day 1: Learning to See
Learn how to break down what you see into simple lines, shapes, and forms. Practice identifying details without becoming overwhelmed by them. Explore light, dark, and the different values of gray. Learn basic principles of composition and how to arrange elements within a drawing.

Day 2: Building Your Skills
Learn how to combine lines, shapes, and shading to create a finished drawing. Explore techniques for creating light, shadow, contrast, and depth. Practice different ways of holding and using a pencil to create a variety of effects. Learn how pressure, movement, and pencil direction can change the look of your drawing.

Day 3: Practice & Reflection
Review your work and discuss your progress with fellow students. Share experiences, ideas, and techniques in a supportive environment. Learn how careful observation and attention to detail can be applied to different drawing styles and artistic mediums. Identify areas to continue practicing and developing.

Day 4: Create & Have Fun!
Put your new skills and techniques into practice. Complete a drawing project using the concepts explored throughout the class. Experiment with different approaches while developing your own creative style. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the process of drawing!
