PC Downtown Renaissance invites you to experience The Paper Bear under the stars on the beautiful Center for the Arts lawn! Presented by The St. Joe Community Foundation, The Paper Bear, is a feature-length family adventure created and filmed in Northwest Florida that reveals a side of our state many visitors, and even some locals, have never seen.
In the forests of the Florida Panhandle, a father brings his tech-obsessed son on a week-long mission to track an elusive female black bear. Away from his phone and surrounded by the wild, the boy is drawn into his father’s nightly stories of local legends, ghost tales and family secrets. Blending live action, animation and the extraordinary biodiversity of our region, The Paper Bear is a celebration of family, discovery and the natural wonders waiting beyond the beach. Through the story of Florida’s black bears, the film invites audiences to discover, love and protect the wild places in our own backyard.
Guests will also have the opportunity to meet the filmmakers and stay after the screening for a special Q&A about the making of the film, its Northwest Florida roots and the real-life conservation mission behind the story.
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, gather your family and friends, and join us for a special community movie night celebrating Florida filmmaking and the place we call home.
